Our Story

Building a Better Way to School

Built by educators and transportation experts who understand that access to learning starts with the ride to school.

WE work with you

Transportation should never be a barrier to a quality education.

As schools move away from one-size-fits-all, school transportation is stuck, delivering poor safety, service, and cost, especially for our most vulnerable kids. Incumbents have no incentive to innovate or to adapt to new dynamic needs.

In 2018, 4MATIV’s founders resolved that we could no longer stand by and watch the education landscape evolve while school transportation idled.

4MATIV set out to turn transportation from a liability into an asset for schools.

The 4MATIV track record

We currently manage millions of dollars in annual transportation budgets, saving schools and school systems up to 40% on yearly transportation costs while improving the transportation experiences for students, families and school frontline staff. We excel in serving the most vulnerable student populations—children with special needs and children experiencing homelessness.

Supporting the Most Vulnerable Students
4MATIV's growing portfolio has it managing transportation services for nine schools and charter networks in Minneapolis-St. Paul, including flexible services for students with special needs and students experiencing homelessness, and non-emergency evacuations of COVID-symptomatic passengers.

Supporting New Walking and Public Transit Options
4MATIV is also currently engaged with Indianapolis Public Schools on a long-term diagnostic and implementation support engagement, facilitating an expanded transit and walking program and helping the district chart a course to long-term transportation system sustainability.

Supporting System and Policy Change
Last year, 4MATIV provided consultative and strategic support for schools in the Twin Cities, Las Vegas, Odessa-Texas, and facilitated collaborative learning networks for over 50 public school districts and charter networks in Houston.
